About This Event
For PI Recordings' 25th-anniversary celebration the Dan Weiss Quartet performs at The Jazz Gallery. Weiss, a Brooklyn-based drummer and composer, works in contemporary jazz and brings a composer's concern for form and extensive rhythmic study to small-room settings. The quartet frames tight written material inside open improvisational structures that emphasize precision and ensemble listening over display.
