Foreigner is a British‑American rock group formed in New York City in 1976, built around guitarist Mick Jones and the early lead voice of Lou Gramm. Emerging from the late‑’70s radio‑rock circuit, the band established an AOR and classic‑rock vocabulary rooted in tight hooks and clean, guitar‑driven arrangements.
