About Chicago(musical)
Jef Kratochvil
First staged on Broadway in 1975, *Chicago* has become a durable New York theater fixture, returning in a long-running revival that helped define the stripped-down, dance-forward Broadway aesthetic. Set in the Jazz Age, it follows accused killers who turn the courtroom into a media stage, trading truth for attention. With music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, the show treats corruption and celebrity as parts of the same machinery. Its satirical tone lands hardest when it sounds most matter-of-fact.
About the Artist
Chicago (band)
Chicago is a long-running American rock group founded in 1967, known for building a pop-rock sound around a prominent horn section. Their arrangements pull from jazz, R&B, and classical-minded structure as readily as radio-friendly hooks, placing them in the orbit of soft rock and yacht rock without staying there.
