Anthony Bolden Trio: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Anthony Bolden Trio

The Anthony Bolden Trio is a New York City–based jazz group working at the seam between straight-ahead tradition and freer, open-form playing. Heard at Arthur’s Tavern, the trio treats the clubstand as a laboratory, shifting quickly from written themes to collective improvisation. Bolden’s role at the center favors responsive phrasing and rhythmic negotiation over fixed arrangements. Their sets tend to prioritize interplay and risk, with each player shaping the direction in real time.
