About This Event
The Anthony Bolden Trio is a New York City–based jazz group working between straight-ahead tradition and freer, open-form playing. At Arthur’s Tavern the trio treats the clubstand as a laboratory, shifting from written themes to collective improvisation while Bolden favors responsive phrasing and rhythmic negotiation over fixed arrangements, with all three players shaping each set in real time.
