About This Event
Trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard brings his blend of bandstand improvisation and film scoring to PACNYC: Perelman Performing Arts Center. A frequent collaborator of filmmaker Spike Lee, he has written more than 80 film and television scores, earned two Academy Award nominations and undertaken large-form projects including operas. His writing favors narrative shape and harmonic detail over showmanship, and in New York he often appears in ensemble settings that foreground close interplay.
