The 46th Annual John Lennon Tribute A Benefit For Theatre Within
About This Event
The 46th Annual John Lennon Tribute at Town Hall assembles a lineup of guest artists interpreting Lennon’s songs to benefit Theatre Within; among them is Cyndi Lauper. Lauper’s wide vocal range, character-driven phrasing, and history of sharing stages with Lennon position her as a notable presence in a program centered on Lennon’s candid, song-centered writing.
About the Artists
Cyndi Lauper
Cyndi Lauper is an American rock and pop singer-songwriter whose catalog spans a dozen studio albums and decades of recording and touring. Her work is defined by a wide vocal range and an instinct for character-driven phrasing, often treating pop songs as short narratives.
John Lennon
John Lennon was an English songwriter, musician, and activist whose work shaped modern rock and pop. As a founder of the Beatles, he helped define a band-centered model of writing and recording, while his later solo material often narrowed in on direct language and pointed themes; his songs tend to favor candor over ornament.
