About This Event
Trombonist-composer Angel Rafael "Papo" Vázquez brings his Mighty Pirates Troubadours to Dizzy's Club. He is a bandleader of Puerto Rican descent whose work blends jazz, Latin and Afro-Caribbean traditions and helped pioneer bomba jazz. Vázquez is a Grammy nominee, was named a 2011 NEA Master Artist by Teatro Pregones, and received a 2024 New York Emmy nomination for musical composition/arrangement.
