The Sam Newsome Quartet is a working jazz group led by saxophonist Sam Newsome, heard regularly in New York City rooms that value close listening. At Smalls Jazz Club in Greenwich Village, the quartet performs in the late set tradition of the neighborhood, where two-set nights are part of the venue’s rhythm.
