About the Artists
Agadez
Agadez takes its name from the Nigerien story of music and resistance popularized in the 2010 documentary-drama centered on Tuareg guitarist Omara “Bombino” Moctar and the scene around him. Onstage in New York City, the project appears at PACNYC: the Perelman Performing Arts Center, presented in dialogue with percussionist and composer Mauro Durante.
Mauro Durante
Mauro Durante is a musician whose work moves between traditional sources and contemporary stage contexts. In New York City, he has appeared at PACNYC: Perelman Performing Arts Center in the live program “Agadez with Mauro Durante,” performing in collaboration with Agadez.
