    About This Event

Dead Bowl presents Stanley Jordan & Gent Treadly at Brooklyn Bowl. Jordan is an American jazz guitarist whose two-handed tapping lets him shape melody and harmony simultaneously, building contrapuntal lines and extended chords that inform his improvisational phrasing and layered textures; his New York appearances at the Iridium emphasize the mechanics of the guitar as part of the music’s structure.

Stanley Jordan is an American jazz guitarist whose work centers on a two-handed tapping approach, using both hands on the fretboard to shape melody and harmony at once. The technique lets him build contrapuntal lines and extended chords in real time, and it strongly informs his improvisational phrasing.
