About This Event
Playback’s Street Party, a New York City–based dance project, brings street and social-dance lineages into the theater at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), adapting communal forms for the stage and a seated audience. The work moves between organized sequences and open, communal energy, using rhythm and repetition as structural devices and favoring direct physical communication over spectacle.
