About Playback’s Street Party
Playback’s Street Party is a New York City–based dance project presented at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). Framed as a live event, it draws on street and social-dance lineages while adapting them for the stage and for a seated audience. The work moves between organized sequences and open, communal energy, using rhythm and repetition as structure. Its performances tend to favor direct physical communication over spectacle.
