Joe Block’s Holiday Extravaganza feat. vocalists Shabnam Abedi and Imani Rouselle
About This Event
Broadcaster Joe Block leads a seasonal set at Dizzy’s Club that pairs vocalists Shabnam Abedi and Imani Rouselle. Block’s pragmatic, cross-disciplinary background informs a band-led, small-ensemble approach that favors storytelling and ensemble balance. Abedi brings a choral-informed, multi-genre sensibility—she arranged "Jhoro Jhoro" and released the jazz album Love Shadows in 2025—while Rouselle emphasizes clarity, phrasing and swing.
About Joe Block’s Holiday Extravaganza
At Dizzy’s Club, Joe Block brings his Holiday Extravaganza to New York in a jazz-format seasonal set. Block is better known locally to sports audiences as a Pittsburgh Pirates broadcaster, and his side credits include an instructional title on early web design, an unusual resume that shades the evening’s tone. Vocalists Shabnam Abedi and Imani Rouselle share the bill, offering two distinct approaches to holiday repertoire within the same ensemble frame. It lands as a hybrid of club tradition and personal biography rather than a standard themed concert.
