Mark Twain Tonight! A Special One-night Only Performance

At Town Hall, *Mark Twain Tonight!* is presented as a solo stage portrait of Mark Twain, delivered through readings drawn from across his work, with a clear lean toward the comic and the satirical. Devised and originally performed by Hal Holbrook, the piece helped reintroduce Twain to modern audiences and became a durable part of American theatrical touring life, with New York playing a recurring role in its public legacy. It treats literature as performance, and turns authorship into a live event. One of its strengths is the way humor carries historical bite without editorializing.
