Tim Ries leads a septet at Smalls Jazz Club. He is an American saxophonist, composer, arranger and bandleader who teaches jazz studies at the University of Toronto, now in his twentieth year. His work spans rock, jazz, classical and experimental forms; he is known for The Rolling Stones Project, two albums of jazz arrangements of Rolling Stones material.
