Jim Staley with Ikue Mori and Zeena Parkins
About This Event
At Roulette trombonist-composer Jim Staley joins Ikue Mori—drummer-turned-electronic composer and 2022 MacArthur Fellow—and harpist/electroacoustic innovator Zeena Parkins. The trio places acoustic sound in close contact with electronics, treating composition as a framework rather than a script and emphasizing space and resonance. Mori’s September 2026 TZADIK release and Parkins’s electric-harp techniques broaden the ensemble’s timbral range.
