A leader of Meta-Four who has played with McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland, Donald Byrd, Chico Hamilton and the World Saxophone Quartet, Person's work ranges from solo pieces and quartets to electric ensembles and big band, often balancing open-ended, free-jazz language with a clear melodic throughline.
