About The Third Annual Gray Pride!
At The Parkside Lounge, Kay Turner and The Pages stage the Third Annual Gray Pride as a hybrid of live music and spoken word. The program draws on Turner’s interdisciplinary practice—performance, writing, and public folklore—shaping feminist material into songs and narratives that move between domestic ritual, legend, and the figure of the witch. In a city where queer nightlife often skews young, Gray Pride makes aging itself a subject rather than a footnote. The result reads like fieldwork turned into a set.
About the Artists
Kay Turner
Kay Turner is an artist and scholar whose work moves between performance, writing, music, and folklore research. Her feminist practice often returns to domestic ritual, fairy-tale witches, and goddess history, drawing on both public-facing and academic inquiry.
The Pages
The Pages is a New York City performance group heard at the Parkside Lounge. They have worked in close collaboration with interdisciplinary artist Kay Turner, including the event “Kay Turner and the Pages Present the Third Annual Gray Pride,” which folds live music into spoken word and public-folklore inquiry.
