The Word Alive, a Phoenix-formed metalcore band that emerged in 2008, performs at Gramercy Theatre. Their early releases on Fearless Records — including the Empire EP, which reached the Heatseekers chart — and debut full-length Deceiver, which entered the Billboard 200, preceded a 2022 move to Thriller Records. Fronted by Tyler Smith with Jose DelRio, Logan Abernethy and Devin Attard, the group favors tight, hook-forward structures framed by post-hardcore intensity.
