David Weiss Sextet

Grant Stewart is a Canadian jazz saxophonist whose work sits in the hard bop tradition, built on swing time and direct melodic phrasing. In New York City he is a familiar late-night presence at Smalls Jazz Club, often fronting the Grant Stewart Quartet.

Grant Stewart Quartet is a hard bop–leaning jazz group heard regularly at Smalls Jazz Club, part of New York City’s late-night club circuit. Built around saxophonist Grant Stewart, the quartet draws on the working-band tradition of small-room jazz, where arrangements are lean and the rhythm section does most of the heavy lifting.
