About A Banquet for the Birds
At Dizzy’s Club, **A Banquet for the Birds** is presented as a live jazz program shaped for large ensemble. The **Future of Jazz Orchestra** and the **Manhattan School of Music Jazz Orchestra** share the stage, treating the title less as spectacle than as a structure for collective sound and pacing. In a city where big-band writing is often kept in repertory, this kind of intergenerational lineup keeps the form in active use. The clearest point is practical: New York’s jazz institutions still depend on players learning in public.
