Manhattan School of Music: Jazz Musician in New York

About Manhattan School of Music

Manhattan School of Music is a New York City conservatory whose jazz program feeds directly into the city’s performance circuit. At Dizzy’s Club, the school regularly presents student and faculty ensembles, including the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Orchestra, sometimes sharing the bill with the Future of Jazz Orchestra. Its curriculum spans performance, composition, and conducting, and that training shows up onstage as tightly organized ensemble work and clear arranging. The playing tends to favor craft over spectacle.
