PI Recordings: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About PI Recordings

PI Recordings is a jazz label founded in 2001 by Seth Rosner, later joined by partner Yulun Wang. Based in a tradition of artist-led documentation, the catalog leans toward avant-garde and compositional jazz, beginning with early releases by Henry Threadgill. In New York City, the label’s community-facing presence surfaces through events like its 25th anniversary program at The Jazz Gallery, featuring the Dan Weiss Quartet. Its curatorial approach favors rigor and long-form development over broad commercial reach.
