Lummie Spann Quintet: Jazz Ensemble in New York

About Lummie Spann Quintet

The Lummie Spann Quintet is a jazz small group heard in New York City club rooms, including sets at Smalls Jazz Club. On bills that also list Ilhan Saferali in quartet and quintet formats, the group works in a context where personnel shifts and repertoire choices matter from set to set. Their performances favor ensemble balance over spotlighting, with attention to how horns and rhythm trade space. The quintet format keeps the music grounded in arrangement while leaving room for late-night improvisation.
