L'Rain: Rock Band in New York

About L'Rain

L’Rain is the New York–based project led by multi-instrumentalist, composer, and curator Taja Cheek. Her work moves between rock and pop, electronic music, and hip-hop/R&B, using collage, looping, and careful arrangement to test what a “song” can hold. Early recordings were shaped in the wake of her mother Lorraine’s death, a personal anchor that still informs the writing. In NYC she has appeared at spaces like the Knitting Factory and Ruins at Knockdown Center, where the live set tends to favor texture and close listening over spectacle.
