Liturgy: Performing Artist in New York

About Liturgy

Liturgy is the Brooklyn-based black metal project led by composer and guitarist Haela Hunt-Hendrix. Formed in New York City’s experimental orbit, the group treats black metal less as a fixed style than as a compositional framework, drawing lines to downtown precedents associated with figures like Glenn Branca and Rhys Chatham. Their work has folded in progressive rock structures alongside electronic and hip hop-informed textures. In performance, Hunt-Hendrix favors rigor and articulation over spectacle, including appearances at ISSUE Project Room.
