About Jon Cowherd

Jon Cowherd is an American pianist and composer whose work moves between modern jazz structure and open improvisation. He is closely associated with drummer Brian Blade through their long-running Fellowship project, and he also produces and arranges for a wide circle of jazz, pop, and rock artists. In New York City he appears at Bar Bayeux leading the Jon Cowherd Quartet with guitarist Steve Cardenas, bassist and songwriter Tony Scherr, and drummer Adam Cruz. His playing favors patient development over display, letting harmony and texture accumulate in real time.
