Joe McPhee & AC Diamond: Jazz Musician in New York

About Joe McPhee & AC Diamond

Joe McPhee & AC Diamond work in the orbit of free and experimental jazz, often in small-group settings where improvisation is treated as composition in real time. At New York City’s ISSUE Project Room, they have appeared alongside bassist-composer James Ilgenfritz, bringing McPhee’s long-running free-jazz language into close contact with Diamond’s textural approach. Their performances favor precision and extended timbre over conventional swing. The music moves between open space, abrasion, and brief lyrical fragments.
