Be Your Own Pet is a Nashville-bred punk and garage rock act that emerged in the early 2000s, built around vocalist Jemina Pearl with Jonas Stein, Nathan Vasquez, and John Eatherly. Early releases came through the local Infinity Cat Records scene before the band moved onto wider label support in the U.S. and U.K. Their sound draws from riot grrrl and queercore lineages, favoring speed, blunt hooks, and a live feel over studio polish. In New York City, they bring that approach to the stage at Elsewhere.
