DB: Performing Artist in New York

About DB

DB is a British jungle and drum-and-bass DJ who relocated from London to New York in 1989, becoming an early figure in the city’s rave and breakbeat circuits. He co-founded Breakbeat Science, a key NYC record shop and label that helped formalize a U.S. infrastructure for drum and bass. After years of DJ work and label-side A&R, he largely stepped back from performing in the 2010s to focus on curating and writing books on pop and counterculture. When he returns to venues like Nowadays, his sets favor craft and historical continuity over spectacle.
