About God Street Wine

God Street Wine is a New York City–born jam band whose early sets at Nightingale’s and The Wetlands Preserve helped shape the improvisational rock scene of the early 1990s. Their songs move easily between rock and pop structures and detour into jazz, bluegrass, funk, and reggae, with space left for group interplay. After disbanding in 1999, they reunited in 2009 and continued performing for a long-running fan community known as the Winos. Their approach favors open-ended ensemble conversation over fixed arrangements.
