At L’Alliance New York, *Winged Migration* returns as a big-screen documentary study of birds in motion, following migration routes across seasons and continents. Jacques Perrin and his collaborators structure the film around observation rather than explanation, letting flight, weather, and landscape do much of the narration. It matters as a record of endurance and scale, made before drone imagery and nature streaming reshaped how audiences expect to see the nonhuman world. One limitation is its tendency to aestheticize peril while leaving ecological context mostly implied.
