“Songs by Grateful Dead (cover performance)” treats the Dead’s catalog as a shared urban songbook, reframed for a Brooklyn room. Presented live at Freddy’s Bar in New York City, it sits alongside the venue’s ongoing mix of open mics, karaoke, comedy nights, and a monthly storytelling series. The Grateful Dead have long circulated through NYC stages and radio culture; a cover set here shows how that legacy persists outside arena histories. The material invites risk, since these songs live or die on ensemble listening rather than faithful replication.
