At ShapeShifter Lab, drummer and composer Nate Rappaport brings The Primordial Sessions to New York as part of his “Welcome To My Garden” program. The project frames dance as a form of listening, drawing on meditative lineages, cyclical rhythms, and an ongoing study of the natural world as spiritual practice. In a city where dance is often engineered for speed and spectacle, this work slows the room down and treats time itself as material. Public NYC premiere history has not been widely documented.
