Merlusse

1 upcoming performance in New York

*Merlusse* arrives at L’Alliance New York as a live cultural event, bringing a rarely seen work from the French screen tradition into a New York setting. The story turns on a feared school supervisor nicknamed “Merlusse,” watched by boys who mistake severity for cruelty until small details complicate the judgment. It is, quietly, a study of authority and class as they register in everyday speech and routine. The piece’s restraint is its critical edge: it refuses easy redemption while still making room for recognition.
