Disney’s *The Lion King* continues its long Broadway life at the Minskoff Theatre, where it has been a fixture of Times Square since its New York arrival in 1997. Adapted from the 1994 animated film, it follows the exile and return of Simba as he confronts power, lineage, and responsibility on the African savanna. Julie Taymor’s direction uses performer-driven animal forms and large-scale puppetry to make the stage language as central as the story. The score blends the film’s Elton John and Tim Rice songs with additional music shaped by Lebo M and collaborators, widening the show’s cultural frame.
