Claude Chabrol’s 1968 drama **Les Biches** screens at **L’Alliance New York** on **Tuesday, January 13, 2026** (free). **Stéphane Audran**, **Jacqueline Sassard**, and **Jean-Louis Trintignant** anchor a tightly observed triangle in which money, desire, and imitation rearrange power from scene to scene. Audran’s performance, honored with the Silver Bear in Berlin, helps fix the film’s place in post‑’60s European cinema. Specific New York premiere history is not well documented; its enduring local relevance comes through repertory revival and study.
