Jazz, Seen

0 upcoming performances in New York

“Jazz, Seen” arrives at The Jazz Gallery as a live set framed like a study in how the music is perceived as much as how it is played. Featured performer Steven Sussman works inside the jazz tradition while keeping attention on listening itself, and on the social room where the music takes shape. In a city where new jazz histories are written nightly, the program reads as part performance, part record of a continuing scene. The result has the clarity of documentation rather than spectacle.
