I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

At Brooklyn Paramount, Bright Eyes present *I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning* as a live country-leaning set built around everyday scenes and uneasy self-scrutiny. The songs move through relationships, belief, and the compromises of adulthood, told in plainspoken detail and sharp turns of phrase. Though the album has long circulated in New York’s indie canon rather than arriving as a formal NYC “premiere,” it remains a touchstone for how early‑2000s songwriting brought literary narration back into popular form. Its restraint is part of its argument.
