In The Hour of Chaos Tour

1 upcoming performance in New York

“In The Hour of Chaos Tour” arrives at Irving Plaza with Allison Russell, joined by Autumn Nicholas, working in a rock/pop frame that keeps the songwriting in the foreground. Russell comes to New York on the heels of *The Returner*, an album that drew four GRAMMY nominations, and with a touring history that includes shared bills with Mavis Staples and local rooms up to the Beacon Theatre. There’s no specific NYC premiere attached to this run, but the engagement registers as part of the city’s long habit of testing new American songcraft in a tight club. A measured critical note: the material’s directness reads as craft, not confessional display.
