Haunted Hill

2 upcoming performances in New York

“Haunted Hill” arrives in New York as a live hip-hop/R&B bill at Irving Plaza, using the venue as a pressure test for cross-generational rap. The lineup—Cypress Hill, Mellow Man Ace, Planta Industrial, Immortal Technique, and Lord Sko—maps a spectrum from West Coast legacy to New York’s present-tense lyric culture. No specific NYC premiere history is widely documented for this event, but the setting matters: Irving Plaza has long functioned as a mid-size room where scenes are measured in real time. One clear takeaway is the program’s insistence on politics and groove sharing the same stage.
