In New York, HALO reads less like a slogan than a club-scale document of Tiffany Day’s current songwriting. At the Knitting Factory, the release-show format puts new material in close range, where guitar-forward pop structures and tight arrangements carry the set without theatrical framing. The title’s other “halo” can’t help but echo halo-halo, the Filipino mixed dessert built from many distinct parts, a useful lens for music that stacks textures and moods in clear layers. This appears to be the first NYC presentation of the HALO release as a complete live statement.
