Ex Situ takes its title from the conservation term for moving endangered life out of its native habitat, and treats that idea as a framework for sound and presence. Presented live at TV Eye in Queens, the piece considers what changes when a living system is managed, protected, or displaced, and what gets lost in the process. Tim Nagle is among the featured performers, working in a setting where control and contingency share the room. It lands as an understated argument: preservation can resemble captivity when the conditions are too carefully arranged.
