El Arte del Bolero

1 upcoming performance in New York

At The Jazz Gallery, alto saxophonist Miguel Zenón and pianist Luis Perdomo bring *El Arte del Bolero* into a small-room New York context, treating the bolero as both repertoire and method. The set moves between modern jazz harmony and the rhythmic grammar of the Caribbean, with Perdomo’s Venezuelan touch shaping the music’s weight and pacing. In a city where Latin music and jazz have long overlapped, the project reads as a study in lineage rather than a crossover. The careful structuring is the point, and it changes how familiar songs are heard.
