Discomfort

1 upcoming performance in New York

At The Jazz Gallery, Dabin Ryu presents the album-release concert for *Discomfort*, a jazz set shaped by her background in theater and classical performance. Her recent NYC path runs through rooms like ShapeShifter Lab and a shared bill with Joe Melnicove, placing this project in the city’s working, cross-disciplinary scene rather than its institutions. The music treats unease as material, using structure and phrasing to test how tension is carried and released. One clear through line is how drama and composition meet without turning the bandstand into a stage.
