“Chinese Love Songs” is presented in New York City at The Red Pavilion as a live jazz set, performed by Eastbound Echo under the program title *In The Mood For Love: A Night of Chinese Love Songs*. The music draws on Chinese-language romantic song traditions and reframes their melodies and sentiments through jazz arrangement and improvisation. In a city built on translation and diaspora, that shift in musical grammar matters as much as the lyrics. The most telling moments are when familiar pop contours meet jazz harmony and the meaning subtly changes.
