DJ set New York Performances

At Knitting Factory, the late-night bill moves through electronic sets by frau, O Slow, and a DJ set from girl_irl. Frau’s writing keeps pop structure in view, with guitar-forward lines and a controlled vocal delivery, while girl_irl reworks hyperpop habits into the logic of the club: short phrases, synthetic tones, and pressure on the low end. There’s no specific NYC premiere history attached to this program, but it fits the city’s long-running tradition of genre spillover in small rooms. The most telling detail is how songwriting and DJ practice are staged side by side, as parallel tools rather than separate scenes.
