THIS IS RISK New York Performances

At BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), THIS IS RISK arrives as a dance work built around exposure, calculation, and what people choose to stake in public. The piece treats risk less as spectacle than as a social contract, testing how trust forms and breaks in real time between performers and audience. For New York, where experimental dance has long used major stages to debate the body’s limits and agency, the context matters. Its clearest achievement is its refusal to resolve uncertainty into a tidy narrative.
