Killing Jokes New York Performances

“Killing Jokes” arrives at NJPAC as a live comedy event featuring Jimmy Carr, a performer known for tightly written one-liners and controlled audience work. The show sits in a long New York–area tradition of stand-up that treats language as a precision tool and discomfort as part of the form’s terrain. No specific NYC premiere history is widely documented for this program, but its proximity to the city’s club ecosystem is part of its context. One critical note: Carr’s style favors structure over spontaneity, which can make the shock feel engineered rather than accidental.
